Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and energetic Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and machinery. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse industrial equipment, farm machinery, and heavy vehicles, contributing to the smooth operation of our operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about vehicle maintenance and repair. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical components using OEM schematics and automotive diagnostics tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as trucks. Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and assembly techniques to meet operational specifications. Inspect and repair brake systems, air brakes, wheel alignments, tires, and suspension components to ensure safety standards are met. Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed; interpret schematics for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues. Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures in compliance with safety protocols. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with team members and clients regarding repair status and recommendations. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engines; dealership experience is highly preferred but not necessary. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel trucks. Proficiency in reading schematics and OEM manuals; skilled in automotive diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding (including MIG/TIG), soldering, assembly, and use of power tools. Knowledge of hydraulics, air brake systems, transmissions, HVAC systems in vehicles or equipment is essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; familiarity with tire service and alignment procedures is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance tasks. Valid certifications related to vehicle maintenance or heavy equipment operation are advantageous; relevant licenses or certifications are required where applicable.
