Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and machinery. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC systems. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently. Conduct fabrication and welding tasks for custom repairs or modifications on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and other industrial equipment. Service and repair various vehicles including tractor-trailers, service trucks, and other commercial vehicles while ensuring compliance with safety standards. Operate heavy machinery safely during maintenance procedures and assist in heavy lifting operations using appropriate power tools and lifting equipment. Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all repairs performed; ensure all work adheres to manufacturer specifications and safety protocols. Support customer service efforts by providing clear communication regarding repair status and recommended maintenance actions. Experience Proven mechanic experience with a focus on heavy diesel engine repair in a dealership or industrial setting. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes (including air brake systems), alignment procedures, shocks & struts, tires service, welding, soldering, and HVAC systems. Hands-on experience working with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, farm machinery, and industrial machinery. Familiarity with schematics for electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic systems. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely during maintenance activities; experience with heavy lifting is essential. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques. Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members. Additional qualifications include dealership experience preferred; certifications in automotive repair or related fields are advantageous.
