Description Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment. This role is essential to ensuring fleet reliability, safety compliance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diesel engines, strong diagnostic abilities, and a commitment to preventative maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and testing equipment Perform repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and fuel systems Conduct preventative maintenance (oil changes, filters, inspections, tune-ups) Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify wear, damage, or safety concerns Repair or replace components such as injectors, turbochargers, alternators, and suspension parts Test vehicles after repairs to confirm proper operation Support emergency repairs or roadside service as needed Follow all workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
Qualifications:
Technical training or certification in diesel or automotive technology preferred Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrains Ability to read schematics, manuals, and diagnostic reports Proficiency with diagnostic software and tools
Licenses & Certifications:
Valid driver's license required Class A or B CDL preferred ASE certification (T1-T8) a plus
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment Ability to stand, bend, and work in physically demanding environments Comfortable working in shop and field environments
Work Environment:
Shop and field service environment Exposure to noise, fumes, and heavy equipment Overtime or emergency repair work as needed
