Job Description

Diesel Mechanic Job Responsibilities:
Maintains service operations by performing both preventative and demand maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
Job Duties:
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on Putzmeister concrete pumps and metered concrete trucks. Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, PTOs, transmissions, brakes, and suspension components. Troubleshoot electrical systems, sensors, and control modules. Inspect and repair concrete pumping systems, including hydraulic cylinders, wear plates and cutting rings, hopper components, delivery lines and valves, and boom systems (where applicable). Maintain and repair volumetric concrete mixing systems, conveyors, augers, and cement delivery equipment. Responsible for overseeing day-to-day shop operations, including workflow management, inventory control, equipment organization, cleanliness, and maintaining a safe, efficient work environment. Complete work orders accurately and maintain service records. Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Work closely with operations personnel to minimize equipment downtime. Maintains vehicle/equipment records by recording service and repairs in maintenance database. Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. Utilizes good housekeeping in the shop and maintains a safe work environment. Ability to tow equipment utilizing pickup trucks. Maintains shop Qualifications Prior education/ completion from a Technical Institution 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience (preferred). Experience working on construction equipment, concrete pumps, or heavy-duty trucks is highly preferred. Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, pneumatic systems, and welding/fabrication (preferred). Ability to read wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics. Familiarity with diagnostic software and scan tools. Valid driver's license required. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
