Job Description

Position Summary:
The Heavy Equipment/Diesel Truck Mechanic will perform a variety of services, diagnostic testing, troubleshooting and minor to complex repairs, on a variety of heavy equipment as well as gas and diesel engines.
Essential Functions:
Perform Class 7 inspections on tractor trailer and light duty trucks. Diagnose and repair vehicles, trucks, heavy equipment, and accessories. Complete paperwork associated with repairs and inspections. Clean workstation and mechanic shop on a weekly basis Completes misc. projects assigned by the Mechanic Shop Manager Ensures all tools are used and treated in a professional manor Enforces and abides by all company policies and procedures Follows all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, or comparable experience Knowledge of diesel engine components Minimum of 2 years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above CDL, Class A License is a plus, Class B License is required Excellent knowledge of vehicle and equipment repairs is required Must have a valid driver's license Attention to detail is required
Job Type:
Full-time Expected hours: normal to work 50 hours a week , over time is time and a half.
Experience:
Diesel engine repair: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
CDL B (Required) CDL A (Preferred)
Pay Scale:
$26 to $35 an hour based on experience.
