Job Title:
Diesel Mechanic Job Description We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in diesel engines, transmissions, HVAC systems, and related systems. The ideal candidate will perform routine maintenance and repairs, conduct efficient repairs using hand tools and diagnostic equipment, and collaborate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of work. Maintaining accurate records of repairs, staying updated on industry trends, and adhering to safety protocols are essential. Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in diesel engines, transmissions, HVAC systems, and related systems. Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including inspections, oil changes, brake services, and preventive maintenance. Conduct repairs efficiently using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair manuals. Collaborate with service technicians and team members to ensure timely completion of work. Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in diesel technology. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized working environment. Work on solo projects as well as contribute to team-oriented tasks to maintain fleet reliability. Ensure buses are safe and operational, showing willingness to stay until the job is done. Essential Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose complex issues in diesel engines and related systems. Experience working on heavy equipment. Proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment specific to diesel mechanics. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with HVAC systems is a plus. Familiarity with bus maintenance is advantageous but not required. Willingness to learn new techniques and technologies in diesel repair. CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is a plus or willingness to obtain. Inspection License is a plus or willingness to obtain. Work Environment Work hours are from 4am to 12:30pm, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. You will be paid hourly in a 12,000 sq ft. garage alongside a team of 3 mechanics. No PPE is required, but the company will provide everything if needed. You must provide your own tools. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Phoenixville, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $58656.00 - $68640.00/yr.
