Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. Duties Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, including Caterpillar and other heavy machinery. Conduct routine maintenance on vehicles, including tractor-trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks. Troubleshoot issues related to air brakes, hydraulics, transmissions, suspension systems, HVAC, shocks & struts, and brake systems. Read and interpret schematics to assist in the repair process. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators and cranes safely during maintenance tasks. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs needed. Maintain accurate records of repairs performed and parts used. Ensure compliance with safety regulations while performing all tasks. Experience Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics. Familiarity with vehicle maintenance practices for both light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles. Experience in working with farm machinery or industrial equipment is highly desirable. Knowledge of electrical systems is a plus; soldering skills are beneficial. Ability to lift heavy objects as required during repair tasks. Previous dealership or service technician experience is preferred but not mandatory.
