Diesel/Industrial Vehicle Mechanic | Port of Charleston Terminal Investment Corporation (TICO) - 2.8 Charleston, SC Job Details 2 hours ago Benefits Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Vision insurance Opportunities for advancement Life insurance Qualifications Hand tools Full Job Description TICO is hiring Diesel/Industrial Vehicle Mechanics, All Skill Levels /All Shifts at our site in Charleston, S.C. This position is typically an 8-hour shift, with occasional overtime. Great pay, benefits, sign on bonus and lots of room for growth! 95% of our fleet are trucks we build at our plant in Ridgeland S.C. They all have the same power package and driveline . They are mirror images of each other, less for a mechanic to have to learn to become proficient and…... we can train the right candidate!
Responsibilities:
Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment. Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, A/C, steering, cooling, DEF, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment. Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services. Ability to utilize computer software diagnostic systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs. Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times. Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs. Performs maintenance related work as required. Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks. Performs other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will possess preferably 2+ year experience in either/or : Heavy truck repair Heavy, medium duty or farm equipment repair. Forklift or construction equipment repair. Automotive maintenance and repair. Completion of a diesel or automotive tech program. Good attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic is a preferred quality. Must maintain your own tool set (company provided tool program available.)
