Overview Locally owned and operated waste hauling company seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and vehicle maintenance. This position requires a commitment to safety and quality, ensuring that all vehicles are maintained to the highest standards. The Diesel Mechanic will play a crucial role in keeping our fleet operational and efficient. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related systems. Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques. Conduct inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Assemble and maintain various components of heavy-duty vehicles. Repair air brake systems and HVAC units as necessary. Experience Proven experience in diesel engine repair and vehicle maintenance is essential. Experience working on garbage trucks is preferred but not required. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
