Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team in Lexington , SC. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical expertise, including diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance of diesel engines and related systems. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake components using OEM schematics and advanced diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and construction machinery to ensure compliance with safety standards. Fabricate parts or modify existing components as needed to facilitate repairs or upgrades. Service and repair farm machinery and industrial equipment, including power tools and HVAC systems. Execute wheel alignments, tire services, brake repairs, suspension work, and welding tasks with precision. Troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently using schematic diagrams and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed and ensure adherence to manufacturer specifications. Assist in equipment assembly, testing, and commissioning processes for new or repaired machinery. Support team members by providing technical guidance on electrical diagnostics and mechanical repairs. Perform DOT Inspections Other duties as assigned Experience Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience Extensive knowledge of heavy equipment mechanics Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, schematics interpretation, and equipment troubleshooting. Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; capable of working with power tools effectively. Familiarity with OEM parts specifications and the repair of diesel engines across various brands including Caterpillar. Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, air brakes, transmissions, suspension systems, HVAC units, and electrical systems. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; strong mechanical aptitude for assembly and disassembly tasks. Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail in all repair activities. Excellent customer service skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance support.
