Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment. Your expertise will ensure that all machinery operates efficiently, safely, and reliably. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines and heavy equipment using schematics, electrical testing tools, and automotive diagnostics software. Conduct repairs and maintenance on various machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and truck-trailers to ensure optimal performance. Replace or repair critical components including transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, shocks & struts, suspension systems, and HVAC units. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to fabricate parts or repair damaged components. Conduct tire service, wheel alignment, brake repairs, and assembly of mechanical parts with precision and attention to safety standards. Interpret technical schematics and manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical failures efficiently. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and ensure compliance with safety regulations during all maintenance activities. Skills Proven dealership experience or extensive background in automotive repair with a focus on diesel engines. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; capable of customizing or repairing parts as needed. Proficient in reading schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams; excellent troubleshooting skills. Experience working with Caterpillar equipment or similar industrial machinery is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs or installations. Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures including tire service, brake repair, alignment, HVAC systems, shocks & struts. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
