Key duties include:
Performing preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel trucks and heavy equipment Troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems Utilizing vehicle computer diagnostic systems to identify failures and program engine and vehicle control modules Responding to road calls and emergency repairs as needed Reviewing, completing, or assigning repairs based on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) Completing maintenance documentation using fleet maintenance software Test driving vehicles before and after repairs to ensure proper operation Supporting team members with repairs and troubleshooting when needed Maintaining professional, courteous communication with drivers and coworkers Keeping a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards Performing additional job-related duties as assigned What We're Looking For To succeed in this role, candidates should have: Strong experience with diesel engine diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance Proficiency using a variety of diesel diagnostic tools A basic set of mechanic tools Class B CDL (or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire) Hydraulic system experience (preferred but not required) A strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and service excellence What You'll Get from Waste Connections We offer an industry-leading compensation and benefits package designed to support your career and your life: Competitive pay: $28-$32 per hour (DOE) 401(k) with company match to help you plan for retirement Comprehensive healthcare benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision Employee perks including: Employee Assistance & Mental Health Program Prepaid Legal Plan Scholarship Opportunities for Children Insurance coverage including Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
