In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment, including farm machinery, industrial equipment, and commercial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that all machinery operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting our operations and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and shock & strut replacements to keep equipment in optimal condition. Fabricate parts or components as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair requirements. Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during repair or testing procedures. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics to identify issues with engine control units (ECUs), wiring harnesses, sensors, and other electronic components. Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed on various equipment types while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards. Assist in assembly or disassembly of complex machinery parts during major repairs or rebuilds while ensuring proper use of safety equipment. Experience Proven dealership experience or extensive background working with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery. Strong mechanical knowledge across diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, suspension components, and brake systems. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of using hand tools and power tools effectively. Experience with schematics reading for troubleshooting electrical or hydraulic systems; familiarity with Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment brands is preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform automotive repair tasks such as tire service, alignment, shocks & struts replacement, and vehicle maintenance. Knowledge of industrial equipment repair processes along with experience servicing tractor-trailers or other large vehicles. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
