In this energetic role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and industrial machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and air brake systems. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, and alignment checks to maximize vehicle lifespan. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex issues across heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. Fabricate parts or modifications using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet operational needs. Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs to ensure compliance with safety standards. Assist in the assembly and disassembly of equipment components during repairs or upgrades. Support customer service efforts by providing timely updates on repair status and ensuring high-quality workmanship. Requirements Proven mechanic experience with heavy-duty vehicles and industrial equipment; dealership experience is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and suspension components. Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting electrical wiring diagrams and mechanical systems. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding, cutting, soldering, and assembly of parts. Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers safely and efficiently. Proficiency with power tools and hand tools necessary for vehicle maintenance and repair tasks. Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with strong problem-solving skills; ability to lift heavy components safely is essential. Valid certifications related to automotive repair or heavy equipment operation are advantageous; ongoing training encouraged.
