Job Overview Join our dynamic team as an On-Highway Diesel Technician specializing in Heavy Duty Line repairs! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty on-highway trucks and equipment. Your expertise will keep our fleet running smoothly, ensuring safety, reliability, and peak performance. Duties Conduct thorough diagnostics using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics to identify issues with diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC components. Perform repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty trucks including tractor-trailers, farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and fabrication techniques to repair or assemble vehicle parts and equipment. Service and repair vehicle systems such as shocks & struts, wheel alignments, tire service, brake systems, electrical components, and HVAC units to ensure optimal operation. Maintain detailed service records and complete inspection reports; interpret schematics for precise troubleshooting and repairs. Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures; assist with heavy lifting tasks as needed. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair needs clearly and ensuring timely completion of work. Experience Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair and heavy-duty vehicle maintenance. Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with manufacturer specifications and advanced diagnostic procedures. Strong knowledge of automotive repair including transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension components, electrical systems, and HVAC. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and assembly of mechanical parts. Skilled in reading schematics and using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail in all repair tasks. Excellent customer service skills combined with mechanical expertise to ensure client satisfaction.
