Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Fleet Diesel Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing our diverse fleet of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. In this energetic role, you'll diagnose, service, and repair diesel engines, heavy machinery, and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our operations running smoothly, supporting our commitment to reliable transportation and equipment management. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and HVAC systems using automotive schematics and power tools. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, wheel alignments, and electrical system troubleshooting. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, hand tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs. Repair and overhaul heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, tractor-trailers, and industrial machinery to ensure safety and efficiency. Utilize heavy equipment operation skills for lifting and positioning large components during repairs or assembly processes. Interpret technical schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical failures accurately. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed and communicate effectively with team members to coordinate maintenance schedules. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics. Dealership experience or extensive hands-on work with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery is highly preferred. Proficiency in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiarity with schematics essential. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance including transmissions, air brakes, alignment, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, shocks & struts. Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently; experience with heavy lifting equipment is a plus. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to automotive repair and service technician roles. Excellent customer service skills for communicating effectively with team members and clients when needed.
