Job Description

Overview American Gunite is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of Class A trucks, volumetric concrete batch trucks, gunite compressor trucks, trailers, generators, and support equipment. Compressor experience is required. We are specifically looking for a mechanic who can diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair truck-mounted compressor systems while also maintaining the rest of our fleet. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, identify problems quickly, and help keep critical equipment operating reliably with minimal downtime.
Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on company equipment Diagnose and repair Class A trucks, trailers, volumetric batch trucks, gunite compressor trucks, generators, and related equipment Troubleshoot and repair truck-mounted compressor systems and pneumatic systems Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air brake systems, and other mechanical components Identify equipment issues and complete repairs efficiently to minimize downtime Maintain maintenance records and repair documentation Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of mechanic experience Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing truck-mounted compressor systems Strong understanding of compressor operation and pneumatic systems Experience working on Class A trucks and trailers Experience working on Class B trucks, including volumetric concrete batch trucks Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy equipment maintenance Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and air brake systems Ability to troubleshoot equipment and work independently Valid driver's license with a clean driving record CDL is a plus, but not required
Preferred:
Experience with industrial compressor systems used in construction, gunite, shotcrete, mining, oilfield, or similar applications
