In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of diesel applications. From heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, medium duty diesel trucks and OTR trucks. Your skills will ensure equipment runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently, supporting our commitment to top-tier service and safety standards. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems across various heavy equipment models. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and HVAC system servicing to maximize equipment uptime. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring harnesses, and electronic controls on machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using power tools and welding techniques to meet specific operational needs or repair requirements. Operate heavy equipment safely during testing phases or when performing on-site repairs to ensure proper functionality post-maintenance. Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and repair logs to ensure compliance with safety standards and facilitate future troubleshooting. Assist in assembly or disassembly of complex machinery components during major repairs or overhauls while adhering to safety protocols. Requirements Proven experience working as a mechanic with dealership experience preferred; strong background in automotive diagnostics and heavy equipment repair essential. Extensive knowledge of diesel engine repair, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC systems, suspension components, and brake systems. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including soldering), and diagnostic software to identify issues accurately. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals thoroughly for precise troubleshooting and repair procedures. Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment or tractor-trailers is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members. Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions; willingness to perform welding or fabrication tasks as needed. Valid certifications related to vehicle maintenance (such as air brake certification), safety standards (OSHA), or specialized equipment operation are a plus.
