Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. In this energetic role, you will leverage your mechanical expertise to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of diesel engines, industrial machinery, and heavy equipment. Your hands-on skills will keep our operations running smoothly, supporting various sectors including construction, agriculture, transportation, and industrial services. Duties Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and air brake systems using OEM specifications and schematics. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, alignment checks, and preventive inspections on farm machinery, heavy equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, power tools, and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function. Conduct electrical diagnostics on automotive systems including wiring harnesses, sensors, and control modules to troubleshoot issues accurately. Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures while adhering to safety protocols for HVAC systems and other specialized machinery. Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed; ensure all work complies with industry standards and OEM guidelines. Assist with assembly or disassembly of complex machinery components; support equipment repair projects that require heavy lifting or welding expertise. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with dealership backgrounds preferred; strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics and heavy equipment repair essential. Familiarity with Caterpillar, OEM parts standards, schematics interpretation, and farm or industrial machinery is highly desirable. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of working with power tools and hand tools efficiently. Ability to diagnose issues in transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC units, electrical wiring, and air brake systems. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators or cranes is a plus; must be comfortable performing heavy lifting tasks safely. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members. Valid certifications related to diesel engine repair or vehicle maintenance are advantageous; relevant licenses for forklift operation or heavy equipment are preferred.
