Essential Functions Perform maintenance, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel engines and heavy equipment within the shop environment. Remove, install, and service components according to service manual guidelines and Doggett's quality standards. Safely operate equipment to diagnose issues, inspect vehicles, and test systems, including power trains, hydraulics, electrical, fuel, and emission systems. Document all repairs, maintenance, and service actions accurately to ensure compliance with company and customer requirements. Evaluate repair vs. exchange costs and make recommendations to management and customers as needed. Manage time effectively to complete assignments and required training within set timelines. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with all safety standards and company policies. Perform additional duties as required by management. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; an Associate's degree or completion of a technical school program is preferred. Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel-powered heavy equipment in a shop setting. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, repair manuals, and equipment effectively. Basic computer skills for documentation and accessing digital manuals. Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members. Proficient math skills to calculate measurements, rates, and ratios. Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions and problem-solve in standardized situations. Must own appropriate tools necessary to perform repairs and maintenance tasks. Preferred Skills Experience with Freightliner or similar diesel equipment. Cummins and Allisson experience a plus ASE or similar certifications in diesel engine repair or related fields.
