Duties & Responsibilities:
. Perform preventive maintenance, class 8 trucks, trailers, mixers and loaders. . Inspect and perform quick repairs on running fleet. . Mount/dismount tires, flat repairs. . Pneumatic tanker and end dump trailer repairs. . Assisting other mechanics as needed (on hand training) . Field repairs in case of an emergency or sudden breakdowns.
  • Preparing work orders & plans after fully scoping out the issues.
  • Maintaining records of parts inventory & serviced vehicles.
. Travel to assist at other shop locations as the need arises
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Mechanical knowledge of diesel engines and components.
  • Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools. . Welding is a plus but not required
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills.
  • Work well under time constraints.
  • Work well with group and team members.
  • The ability to read and process written instructions.
  • Must pass a background check (CBC) in accordance with local laws and Federal Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) regulations.
Education & Training:
  • Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or GED.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools continually.
  • Exposure to hazardous conditions / materials.
  • Ability to work in loud / distracting environments.
  • Ability to lift 50-60 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work in cramped workspaces or awkward positions.
  • Ability to work in various environmental temperatures / exposure to foul weather.
  • Ability to bend, twist, kneel, crouch, stoop, or crawl for prolonged periods of time.
  • Pass drug screening and fit for duty test.
