Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic Service Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including construction machinery, industrial equipment, and farm machinery. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our operations across various sectors. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, suspension, and HVAC systems using schematics and diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other heavy equipment in accordance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to equipment operation through mechanical knowledge and electrical diagnostics. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function. Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, tire service, brake repairs, alignment checks, and suspension work to maximize equipment uptime. Utilize power tools and specialized equipment to assemble or disassemble machinery during repairs or upgrades. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document repairs accurately for compliance and future reference. Support heavy lifting operations safely while handling large components or machinery parts. Assist with heavy equipment operation when necessary to facilitate repairs or testing procedures. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations while providing excellent customer service to internal teams or clients. Experience Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic Service Technician with dealership experience preferred. Strong background in construction equipment servicing including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery. Skilled in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, schematics reading, and troubleshooting complex systems. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering for repair or modification tasks. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation combined with mechanical expertise in transmissions, diesel engine repair, air brake systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and suspension components. Familiarity with OEM parts specifications and the use of diagnostic software for electrical system troubleshooting. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on large machinery components. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on equipment troubleshooting and repair efficiency. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients.
