Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Key Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, electrical, and hydraulic systems Perform routine preventative maintenance and safety inspections Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and software Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders Ensure compliance with safety standards, DOT regulations, and company policies Respond to breakdowns and emergency repairs as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Qualifications & Experience High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred Minimum 2-5 years of experience working as a diesel mechanic (fleet or heavy equipment experience preferred) Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and repair techniques Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagnostic data Valid driver's license; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain ASE Diesel certifications a plus Skills & Abilities Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills Attention to detail and commitment to safety Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime when necessary
