Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with automotive diagnostics, and the ability to work efficiently on various machinery including farm equipment, industrial machinery, over the road trucks as well as general vehicles. We are looking for someone with previous diesel experience but would be willing to teach the right person. Starting pay is based on previous experience and knowledge of diesels and general automotive repair. After a grace period uniforms, insurance, and retirement benefits will be available. Duties Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brakes. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, and brake repairs. Fabricate parts and components as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding, and soldering techniques. Repair and maintain heavy equipment including forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery. Read schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues effectively. Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures. Assist in the assembly and disassembly of machinery components for repair or replacement. Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and comply with industry regulations. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used. Qualifications Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership or heavy equipment background preferred but not a necessity. Strong knowledge of automotive repair, including diesel engine repair, transmissions, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and welding. Experience working with heavy machinery such as forklifts, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools for troubleshooting complex systems. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance apparatus. Mechanical aptitude with a focus on vehicle maintenance and equipment repair. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation.
