Job Description

Diesel Mechanic Catharpin, VA 20143 Full-time Full-time Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in truck and heavy equipment repair and mechanical knowledge, with experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and related systems. This role is essential for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet, contributing to the overall success of our operations. Experience with Caterpillar equipment is a plus. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and heavy equipment. Conduct diagnostics to identify mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques. Repair or replace components such as air brakes, shocks, struts, hydraulics and other critical systems. Solder electrical connections and troubleshoot electrical systems as needed. Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed. Operate heavy equipment safely while performing maintenance tasks. Stay updated with industry advancements and best practices in diesel mechanics. Skills Proficient in automotive diagnostics with a focus on diesel engines. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in heavy equipment repair. Familiarity with HVAC systems related to heavy equipment operation is a plus. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a mechanical environment.
