Job Description

  • 55 (Top Pay Will Increase Based on EXP/Qualifications)
Starting Shift:
3pm-1am M-F. $2 Shift Differential. OT after 40hrs worked! $1

Key Responsibilities Diagnostics & Repair:
Diagnose and repair operational difficulties with heavy-duty diesel trucks, hydraulics, and specialized waste/recycling equipment.
Fleet Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and complex repairs on heavy diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically operated vehicles.
Planning & Scheduling:
Plan and schedule repairs using the M5 planner system, ensuring all necessary parts are procured for a successful maintenance plan.
Administrative Duties:
Accurately complete daily reports, work orders, parts orders, and other required administrative tasks.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all work is performed in safe conditions and in strict compliance with federal, state/provincial, local laws, and company safety policies.
Collaboration & Training:
Assist in reviewing mechanical write-ups on equipment, coordinate repair schedules, and aid in the training and orientation of new team members.
Tool Maintenance:
Possess, provide, and maintain the personal hand and power tools necessary to perform heavy equipment maintenance, while keeping a clean and organized work area.
Job Requirements Education:
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); a technical diploma or degree in diesel mechanics is highly desired.
Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year of experience working as a diesel mechanic.
Technical Skills:
Computer literacy is required, with the ability to be trained on specialized software systems (experience with diagnostic software is a major plus).
Safety Screenings:
Must be able to meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions Physical Effort:
Frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds . Continuous concentrated mental and visual attention is necessary.
Environment:
Frequently exposed to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, vibration, hot/cold weather conditions, and toxic or caustic chemicals/fumes. Occasionally required to work in high, precarious places.
