Job Description

Company Overview Equipment Works Inc. is an independent shop that takes pride in being able to diagnose, repair, and service a wide range of equipment, light/medium/heavy duty vehicles, and other machinery. Our shop performs services such as aftertreatment diagnostics, driveability diagnostics, engine rebuilds, transmission replacements, and scheduled maintenance. We also have a full-service spring shop and preventative maintenance bay. We are located in Lorton, Virginia, just off of I-95. Job Description We are looking for an experienced (+10 years) A Tech to be the lead tech in our diagnostics and repair department. We work on variety of equipment and vehicles, so you will not get bored working on the same brand/models every day. Our shift is from 7am-430pm, Monday through Friday. Job Requirements Must be highly proficient in using Cummins Insite, Navistar NED/DLB, Isuzu IDSS, Mack/Volvo Tech Tool, Allison DOC, Bendix ACOM, and other programs to diagnose engines, transmissions, aftertreatment systems, and ABS systems. Must be highly proficient in performing extensive diagnostics and repairs on all vehicle systems including, but not limited to, engines (including in-frame rebuilds), turbo/VGT, EGR, DPF/DOC/SCR/DEF, hydraulic controls, transmissions, driveshafts, and electrical. Must be able to read, understand, and use written work orders to determine a path for diagnosing and repairing equipment/trucks. Must be able to independently search for, read, understand, and use OEM electrical diagrams, troubleshooting steps, and guided diagnostics to diagnose check engine lights and driveability complaints. Must be able to work independently most of the day, interact professionally with other employees, clearly explain issues and solutions to customers, and have a professional attitude. Must have the ability to use a computer to fill out corrective actions and parts used in our management software, as well as fill out various forms by hand. Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and work in cramped or uncomfortable positions for periods of time. Must be have driver's license, class A CDL, clean driving record, and reliable transportation to work. Must have own tools. The shop has specialty tools but all hand and power tools are supplied by the mechanics. Position starts at $25/HR but starting pay will be increased dependent on skills/experience
