TBD Position Summary/Objective We are looking for a skilled Mechanic to assemble, maintain and repair machinery and vehicles. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of machines, engines and mechanical systems. Principal/Essential Duties & Responsibilities Diagnose and repair issues in diesel engines Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulics, brakes, transmission, steering and other systems Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment (i.e., dozers, excavators, heavy haul trucks, etc.) Perform welding or fabrication tasks on equipment as necessary Prepare work orders and order parts Fuel equipment and maintain daily log Other Duties as Assigned or Requested Perform additional duties as needed Qualifications Required Preferred Minimum of 3 years of experience with diesel engine repair Thorough knowledge and working experience of DOT standards and regulations Must be 18 years in age or older Must pass pre-employment drug screen A valid Driver's License Ability to work overtime and flexible hours (day/night/weekends) Ability to work outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions Knowledge and working experience of DOT standards and regulations Ability to communicate with others to convey information effectively Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials Demonstrate attention to details Knowledgeable of safety procedures and practices Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. High School Diploma preferred Diesel technician or mechanic degree a plus Welding experience a plus Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, Competencies Very good communication skills A problem-solving ability Very good physical strength and stamina People Management and Supervisory Responsibility Does this role supervise/manage other employees? Includes tasks such as maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, ensuring equipment operates efficiently, and adhering to safety protocols in construction sites. Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, and reflective vests when on-site.
