Duties & Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair inboard marine diesel engines on luxury yachts Perform preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, adjustments, and engine overhauls Service transmissions, hydraulic systems, and related marine propulsion components Use diagnostic tools, power tools, and specialty tools to identify issues and confirm repairs Travel up to 50% for on-site service work Communicate professionally with customers and support daily repair priorities with the service team
Requirements Required:
At least 2 years of hands-on experience as a diesel technician Diagnostic and troubleshooting experience with diesel engines and related mechanical systems Working knowledge of marine transmissions, hydraulic systems, and inboard engine components Strong customer service skills, dependable work habits, and the ability to work effectively with a team Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record Able to work in tight spaces, lift up to 50 lbs, and safely use power and specialty tools Must live in the greater Tidewater area or be willing to relocate and travel up to 50% for service work
Preferred:
Experience servicing MAN common rail or Scania diesel engines #PJ1
Compensation:
$25.00 - $35.00/hour based on experience and qualifications Overtime paid after 40 hours per week Annual year-end performance bonus opportunity Company-paid travel expenses for required service travel
