Job Description

Join an Employee-Owned Company That Invests in Skilled Technicians Lawrence Companies is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician Specialist to join our growing maintenance team in Roanoke, VA. We are looking for a highly skilled technician with strong diagnostic abilities, a solid work ethic, and hands-on experience repairing and maintaining diesel-powered trucks and equipment. If you take pride in quality repairs, minimizing downtime, and solving complex mechanical issues, we want to hear from you. What You'll Do Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment Perform preventative maintenance and major component repairs Work on engines, transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC, suspension, steering, brakes, fuel systems, and emissions systems Utilize diagnostic software and scan tools to identify and resolve issues efficiently Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and manufacturer service manuals Complete repairs safely, accurately, and in a timely manner Maintain detailed repair documentation and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members Support shop cleanliness, safety standards, and OSHA compliance What We're Looking For 3+ years of diesel technician experience preferred Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Experience with heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and diesel equipment Knowledge of electrical systems, ECM diagnostics, hydraulics, and air brake systems Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and service software CDL preferred or ability to obtain one Must provide your own tools Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 pounds Ability to stand, bend, crawl, stoop, climb, and work in varying shop and weather conditions Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment Why Join Lawrence Companies?
