5 Virginia Beach, VA Job Details Full-time From $25 an hour 18 hours ago Benefits Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Customer communication Vehicle mechanics for truck drivers Diesel mechanics Corrective maintenance operations Hand tools Routine maintenance projects Full Job Description We are looking to hire a technician to perform preventative maintenance on a fleet of medium to heavy duty vehicles as well as occasional excavators, tractor trailers, and other industrial equipment. The ideal candidate should have a valid US Driver's License, clean driving record, and at least 1 year of diesel experience. This role will regularly perform preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics of machines, and other tasks as they become available. This role is a dynamic role and will require you to be a fast learner with a string desire to continue learning. A strong attention to detail is a must.
Additional preferences include:
  • Mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and vehicle electrical systems
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting gear
  • Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts or similar machinery is highly desirable
  • Customer service skills a plus to communicate effectively with clients or team members regarding repairs or maintenance needs Pay starts at $25/hr but is open to negotiation dependent upon qualifications.
