Job Description

A long-established moving company is hiring a Diesel Fleet Mechanic in Woodbridge, VA to maintain and repair diesel and gas trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment. Ideal candidates bring diesel repair, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance experience. Apply today for steady day shift work and hands-on fleet responsibility. Duties & Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, computer diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on a mixed fleet of diesel and gas equipment, including newer model trucks. Maintain tractors, straight trucks, box trucks, vans, trailers, pickups, and related equipment used in daily moving operations. Use diagnostic tools and OEM software to identify faults, troubleshoot modern truck systems, and support accurate repairs. Inspect vehicles, address driver-reported issues, and help keep equipment safe, reliable, and ready for dispatch. Document completed repairs, dates, mileage, parts, and work performed to support fleet records, state inspections, and DOT compliance. Organize daily repair priorities while coordinating with operations on scheduling, parts, and equipment downtime.
Requirements Required:
3+ years of experience repairing diesel trucks, fleet vehicles, trailers, or similar equipment. Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and general fleet repairs. Working knowledge of diesel systems, gas vehicles, electrical components, sensors, and modern truck technology. Ability to use diagnostic tools and OEM software to troubleshoot equipment issues. Able to manage daily priorities, communicate with drivers and operations, and keep accurate repair records. Must provide personal tools specialty tools or diagnostic licenses may be provided as needed. Must complete pre-employment background check and drug screening and follow drug-free workplace requirements. #PJ1
Compensation:
$30.00 - $35.00/hour based on experience and qualifications Overtime after 80 hours per biweekly pay period

Day shift, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Saturdays as needed, especially during peak season
