Job Description
This is a full-time, year-round position that offers Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, holiday pay, and paid vacation and sick time. (Safety Sensitive Position) This is an hourly, non-exempt position earning $25 - $30 per hour (DOQ). We are looking for individuals that are respectful, hard-working, have an eye for detail, and work with a sense of urgency. We are looking for an Automotive gas/Diesel Fleet Mechanic experienced in routine maintenance, diagnostics and possible light fab work. Applicant will be in charge of all oil changes and minor to medium repairs for the fleet using our shop and tools as well as tracking maintenance and repairs in our fleet management software. Majority of work would be conducted in a heated shop. Great atmosphere, very independent, we like to allow you to do what you do best and help keep our fleet safely operating day in and day out. Position Summary Assemble, maintain, and repair machinery and vehicles. Responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of automobiles, trucks, machines, engines, and mechanical systems through inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation, replacing filters. May also complete minor repairs to body parts if needed. Will need to be trained in other aspects of business as well so that you could fill in if need be. Position Description The essential functions for this position are as follows: Build, refurbish and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements as needed Inspect vehicles, machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner Perform thorough maintenance on vehicles, machinery, equipment, and systems Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users Undertake other duties as assigned (such as repair of hydraulic systems, pumps and vehicles etc.) Keep logs of work and report on issues in software May be required to work outside of normal schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, as it may be necessary to fulfil the duties or the needs of the business. Expected to have regular attendance for scheduled shifts, and to notify supervisor within a timely manner if you need to miss work for any reason Maintain a neat and clean appearance as outlined in Ace's employee handbook. Follow safety regulations and work in a safe manner Other duties as assigned Position Qualifications High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus. Valid certification (such as ASE) is preferred Proven experience as Mechanic Safety Sensitive Position-you can be drug tested at any time. Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers etc.) and precision measurement tools (such as calipers) Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc. A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines Very good communication skills Strong problem-solving ability Valid state driver's license from state of residence within 30 days of hire, and a clean driving record per company standards. Must be 21 years of age by date of hire. class B or better CDL not required but helpful.
