Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. Looking to fill a full time day position. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in diesel engine repair and maintenance, as well as experience with various types of heavy equipment and automotive diagnostics. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability and performance of our fleet, which includes trucks, excavators, and other industrial machinery. Duties Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including troubleshooting and diagnostics. Conduct inspections on various vehicles and heavy equipment to identify issues. Repair or replace components such as transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC systems. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks. Maintain accurate records of repairs performed and parts used. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service requests. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding vehicle status and repair needs. Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing processes. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair and diesel engine repair. Proficiency in using schematics for troubleshooting electrical systems. Experience with various types of heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, farm machinery, and tractor-trailers. Familiarity with automotive diagnostics and maintenance practices. Ability to perform alignment, brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, tire service, and assembly tasks. Knowledge of fabrication techniques and welding processes is a plus. Capability to lift heavy objects safely as required during maintenance tasks. Previous experience in a dealership or service technician role is preferred.
