About the Role Bayland Transport, located in Green Bay, WI, is looking for an experienced, certified diesel mechanic/technician to join our team immediately. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining our fleet and keeping our tractor-trailers on the road, delivering refrigerated goods safely and on time to meet our customers' needs. Key Responsibilities Perform all tractor and trailer repairs, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance, including but not limited to: Electronic system, brake, engine, transmission, differential, drive train, and HVAC system diagnostics. Fuel system, steering, suspension, and tire maintenance. All tractor and refrigerated trailer preventative maintenance tasks. Required DOT inspections. Refrigerated trailer repairs and preventative maintenance tasks associated with trailer units. Accurate electronic and manual reporting of vehicle service records. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized shop workspace.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum 5-6 years of hands-on experience in diesel engine repair and fleet maintenance.
Education/Training:
Diesel Mechanic schooling, formal training background, or trade certifications.
Key Skills & Abilities:
Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles for test driving and repair verification. Strong troubleshooting capabilities across mechanical and electrical systems. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Proven record of maintaining diesel equipment safely and increasing efficiency.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, climbing, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, and reaching. Ability to perform paperwork, handle phone calls, and participate in training. Ability to perform potential minor roadside service repairs in all weather conditions. Comfortable working around noise, shop chemicals, and standard slip/trip/fall hazards associated with shop tasks.
