School Bus Fleet Maintenance Technician Location:
Madison, WI Compensation:
$26•32 per hour
Schedule:
1st shift, Monday-Friday. Work an 8-hour day within 5:00 a.m.•5:00 p.m. What a Day Looks Like You start by checking overnight reports and prioritizing safety-critical items for a mixed fleet of short buses and Ford vans that serve special education routes. Your morning may include fluid changes, filter swaps, greasing chassis points, and running through a basic inspection checklist. Midday, you'll assist a senior tech on a brake and suspension job, then complete an electrical diagnostic on a van with intermittent lighting issues. You'll wrap up by logging your work, staging units for afternoon routes, and planning parts needs for tomorrow. What You Bring 2+ years of hands-on mechanic experience or recent graduation from a trade/technical program Active driver's license and the motivation to earn a CDL on the job (company-paid training and testing) Your own toolbox with core hand tools Confidence with routine
PMs:
