Job Description

As a Diesel Technician at Truck Country, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our fleet and our customer's fleet of medium- and heavy-duty trucks remain in top condition. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills while performing diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance. Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance on medium- and heavy-duty [DN1] trucks. Continuously develop and improve your maintenance and diagnostic skills through hands-on experience and company-provided training. Complete inspections, recalls, and repairs with precision and efficiency. Conduct diagnostics and repairs on truck engines using advanced diagnostic tools. Accurately document findings and repairs in digital format using company-supplied laptops and diagnostic equipment. Collaborate with the team to ensure a high standard of repair and maintenance service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in medium- and heavy-duty trucks. Execute repair tasks, ensuring that vehicles are safely and effectively restored to optimal condition. Clearly communicate diagnostic results and repair needs through digital notes and verbal communication. Use diagnostic tools and resources provided by the company to locate relevant vehicle information for repairs. Engage in continuous learning by completing and retaining training on new technologies and repair techniques.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience as a technician with medium- or heavy-duty trucks Basic computer skills, including the ability to use diagnostic software Experience with power and hand tools Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Strong attention to detail, ensuring a clean and organized workspace Excellent communication skills to effectively document and relay repair findings
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience as a Diesel Technician, particularly with Class 8 vehicles Certified candidates for Cummins or Detroit engines will receive top hiring priority CDL license preferred, but not required Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more Experience with engine overhauls is a preferred qualification Why Join Us?
