Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and air/hydraulic brake components using schematics and diagnostic tools. Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on construction machinery, farm equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other medium and heavy-duty vehicles. Troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently by utilizing mechanical knowledge and electrical diagnostics to identify root causes. Carry out welding, fabrication, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs. Assist with heavy lifting tasks using power tools and heavy equipment operation techniques while adhering to safety protocols. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely equipment repair and maintenance schedules are met to minimize downtime. Skills Diesel Mechanic with 2-4 years of experience in engine diagnostics with repair and maintenance in medium to heavy-duty equipment. Will train the right person if they show an aptitude to want to continue to advance their career. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and schematics interpretation. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques for various repair tasks. Knowledge of medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery. Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues related to transmissions, diesel engine repair, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Physical capability for heavy lifting, with the ability to lift at least 50 lbs. to 75 lbs. and performing manual tasks safely in diverse work environments.
