Service Technician located in Wausau supporting the Northwoods region.

Monday
  • Friday 3:30pm
  • Midnight Shift Premium:
    Any work performed/hours worked Monday
  • Friday, 5:00 pm
  • 5:59 am and/or any hours worked on weekends (Saturday/Sunday) will be paid a shift differential of 15% of your base wage.
The Opportunity (Job Purpose): Are you ready to make a visible impact? As our next Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in keeping the customer's fleet moving. We are looking for an energetic, solutions-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is eager to grow with us. What You'll Do Day-to-Day (Essential Duties & Responsibilities): Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests to ensure accurate assessments of maintenance needs. Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards, adhering to regulatory obligations. Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, or parts, showcasing innovative problem-solving skills and techniques. Evaluates service and parts options to contain costs, demonstrating adaptability and resourcefulness in finding effective solutions. Controls corrosion and completes winterization procedures to prolong the lifespan of vehicles and ensure responsible use of resources. Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs, facilitating transparency and accountability in customer interactions. Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by staying updated on regulations and standards through ongoing education and training. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring the safety and well-being of yourself, colleagues, and customers. Collaborate closely with team members and leadership to continuously cultivate positive experiences for our customers. Physical and Mental Demands:
The employee is frequently required to bend, squat, kneel, and crawl/lay on back; reach away from body or shoulder height; climb or balance; lift up to 75 pounds; push or pull; working in areas with fumes or airborne particles; vibration.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in automotive repair or heavy-duty truck maintenance preferred. Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred, or ability to obtain. Dependable and reliable attendance required. What's In It For You?
