Job Description
The Lubrication Technician maintains lubrication of equipment based on NLGI standards to eliminate lubrication reliability downtime. In addition, this role is required to analyze lubrication needs specific to equipment. Manage and maintain inventory necessary to perform repair and maintenance associated with lubrication of equipment. As a Lubrication Technician for Gold Bond Building, you will have the opportunity to: Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to assess lubrication needs. Develop and implement lubrication schedules based on equipment specifications and manufacturer recommendations. Select appropriate lubricants, greases, and oils based on equipment requirements and operating conditions. Perform lubrication activities, including oiling, greasing, and refilling lubricant reservoirs, following established procedures. Monitor lubricant levels and conditions and perform oil analysis as needed to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance. Use CMMS to maintain accurate records of lubrication activities, including usage, replenishment, and equipment conditions. Collaborate with maintenance technicians and engineers to address lubrication-related concerns and implement improvements. Participate in equipment maintenance and repair activities as necessary, including lubrication system troubleshooting and component replacement. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in lubrication technology. Specific Skills Demonstrated understanding of basics of NLGI knowledge, how to tell the difference between basic lubricants and what they are used for according to NLGI standards. Attend Level 1 Machinery Lubricant Technician (MLT I) and the Level 1 Machinery Lubrication Analyst course (MLA I) provided by the international Council of Machinery Lubrication. Ability to recognize deficiencies in alignments, bearings, etc. Knowledge and troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic, piping, and material transfer systems. Knowledge of bearings, lubrication, and power transmission Ability to work with vendors to manage inventory and maintain inventories. Knowledge of LOTO procedures and ability to conduct adequate safety risk assessments. Understanding of the Fire Protection System and knowledge of fire brigade procedures and positions Knowledge and ability to use Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Ability to complete Job Safety Analysis (JSA) when tasks require it. Ability to work closely with supervisors and other departments; be a team player/leader; good communication skills and demonstrate positive attitude. Although primarily a M-F dayshift role, technician must be willing to work any shift, work overtime and weekends. Maintain a clean workstation, and exhibit good performance, safety, and attendance records. Be meticulous, clean neat and orderly. Lubrication process is one that attention to detail is crucial and organization skills are a priority.
