The Locate Technician will be responsible for identifying and marking underground utility lines to ensure safe excavation and construction activities. This role requires strong communication skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to work independently in various weather conditions. Key Responsibilities Respond to locate requests and accurately identify underground utilities using maps, blueprints, and electronic locating equipment. Mark utility lines clearly and accurately on job sites using paint, flags, or stakes according to industry standards and regulations. Communicate effectively with contractors, utility companies, and other stakeholders to ensure safe excavation practices. Maintain detailed records of locate activities, including location reports and documentation of any discrepancies or issues. Follow all safety protocols and comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to underground utility locating. Operate and maintain locating equipment and tools in good working condition. Work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in utility locating, construction, or related field preferred.
