Electrical Technician Job ID 134052 Job Type Contract Industry Automotive Location Warren, Michigan, United States Talascend is currently seeking an Electrical Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Warren, Michigan. Overview The ideal candidate will have experience constructing wiring harnesses for racing, military, or aerospace applications, with a strong understanding of basic D.C. electronics knowledge and experience with high voltage applications. Responsibilities Assemble, install, perform functional and safety tests and reverse engineer on wiring using hand tools and proper assembly techniques by following work instructions. Install lights, brackets, and electrical hardware to special test boxes, automotive components, and vehicles according to specifications. Test wiring and components for correct operation using a schematic and diagnostic equipment. Perform wiring reworks and repairs on bench and vehicle, crimp and solder, de-pin terminal, create basic schematics and reverse engineer harnesses. Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs. Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 4 years of electrical work experience.

Preferred:

Certificate in Automotive Electrical Technology or related. Requirements Must be able to work in the United States legally; cannot provide sponsorship. Must be a U.S. person as defined in ITAR. Strong understanding of basic D.C. electronics knowledge, including principles of current flow, resistance, voltage, voltage drop, OHM's law, relay fundamentals, E.M.I., and grounding. Familiarity with military-grade components to IPC standards. Electrical Technician must be highly competent and efficient in assembling custom wiring harnesses by hand. Mechanical aptitude with basic understanding of automotive systems and ability to crimp and solder wires. Proficient with hand and power tools and able to operate vehicle lifts. Proficient electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills and the ability to understand electronic schematics and electronic part documentation. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of MS Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Able to work overtime and weekends. Preferred Requirements Broad knowledge of vehicle systems and related components.
