Job Description

Pittsburgh Regional Transit is looking for a Substation Maintainer to perform a variety of assignments related to traction power substations for Port Authority of Allegheny County d/b/a Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT). This includes installing, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining and performing scheduled maintenance on the traction power substations and related components.
Essential Functions:
Installs, maintains, repairs, cleans, inspects and tests substation equipment, including, but not limited to; AC/DC switchgear, circuit breakers, relays, rectifiers, fans, heaters, emergency standby equipment, and all auxiliary equipment. Performs preventive maintenance and monitors substation condition. Troubleshoots, adjusts and tests substation equipment, including periodic functional tests. Manually operates substation equipment. Works with written documentation, including instruction manuals, drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics
Job Requirements:
Must complete the apprentice training requirements for this position. Must possess a Class "C" PA Driver's License. Must obtain and maintain a valid Class "B" driver's license within ninety (90) working days.
