Job Description

DESCRIPTION
- The Assistant Superintendent Power Desk Control coordinates and implements planned activities and functions of Electrical Power distribution throughout the systems on a given shift.
- Principal Job Duties
- + Manages, schedules, coordinates, and implements activities and functions of Electrical Power distribution throughout the systems to ensure uninterrupted power supply to rail system and facilities.

- + Maintains and promotes awareness and accountability with safety policies and procedures while performing job functions. Promotes a positive safety culture and encourages reporting of safety concerns consistent with our Agency Safety Plan, other regulatory requirements within the Safety Management System and just culture principles.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Knowledge
- + Knowledge of WMATA technology in electrical and electronic systems operations and their relationship with rapid power distribution + Knowledge of WMATA's rules and regulations and maintenance procedures + Knowledge of the principles and practices of safety in transit vehicle operations and the movement of transit vehicles.
- Skills
- + Skilled at communicating effectively, concisely, maintaining liaison with individual(s) and organization(s) with whom interface is required.
- Abilities
- + Ability to give direction and provide work guidance to field crews + Ability to exercise timely judgment in normal and emergency situations

- + Office 365 + AIMS + Maximo + GOTRS - General Orders Track Right System
- Supervisory Responsibility
- Supervises work of others, including planning, assigning and scheduling work, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing their productivity. May offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments, but does not have responsibility for making these decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Education
- + High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum Experience
- + Seven (7) years of relevant experience to include: + o A minimum of five (5) years of electrical construction, maintenance and/or design experience + o A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience
- Minimum Certification/Licensure
- + Valid Driver's License + Roadway Worker Protection Certification level 4 within 6 months
- Preferred Qualifications
- + Rail industry traction power experience + Utility power control center experience + Associate's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technologies or Similar + Certified Electrician + Vocational or Technical Electrical Training
