Job Description

Field Service Engineer Are you someone who enjoys traveling, exploring, and connecting with new people? Then the Field Service Engineer position at Bystronic is perfect for you! As a Field Service Engineer you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting and repairing Bystronic Laser Cutting and Automation systems, and Press Brake Machines. The ideal candidate would live in the IA Region. This position requires 80% travel, Monday-Friday.
Your Responsibilities:
Install, repair, commission and troubleshoot machine tools. Deliver top-notch technical support to customers to guarantee the peak performance of sheet metal machinery. Enter service reports. Diagnose mechanical, and electrical problems, performing mechanical and electrical repairs, install new machines. Provide training guidance on machine operation, maintenance, and safety at customer locations to achieve optimal productivity.
Your Expected Qualifications:
High school diploma required. Additional education such as an associates or technical school degree in engineering or related is preferred. Hands on experience in field service of large machinery, or machine tool installation, repair and preventative service. Customer Service Focus. The ability to travel 100%, primarily within the United States. Occasional international travel may be required. We would also love if you had: Electrical and mechanical machine troubleshooting experience. Ability to work overtime and including weekends as needed. A valid driver's license and the ability to rent a car. A Passport Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. Able to bend, push, pull and stand for long periods of time. Excellent oral and written communication skills. We are also looking for some special skills: Computer proficiency, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Familiarity with Apple products (iPhone, iPad) Positive, professional attitude and customer service background. Possess a basic tool kit, special tools will be supplied. Understanding of I/O modules, servo amplifiers, and electrical components in control cabinets. Understands the relationship between axis motors and feedback systems for each axis. Experience with electrical, hydraulics, EtherCAT, Ethernet, pneumatics, electronics and blueprint/schematics
