Duties Install, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco networking hardware including routers, switches, ASA firewalls, and wireless access points to ensure optimal performance. Manage and support complex network infrastructure components such as LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), SAN (Storage Area Network), and MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching). Implement and maintain routing protocols like OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, ensuring efficient data flow across networks. Conduct network security assessments utilizing Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine), PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), and network hardening techniques to safeguard organizational assets. Support network configuration tasks including
DHCP, DNS, GPO
(Group Policy Objects), LDAP integration, and system hardening across various operating systems such as Windows, Linux distributions like Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu, openSUSE, and UNIX variants. Perform system troubleshooting using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG Network Monitor, Splunk, and remote access software to diagnose and resolve issues swiftly. Assist with load balancer implementation using technologies such as F5 or Cisco ACE to optimize application availability and performance. Qualifications Proven experience with computer networking concepts including TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, QoS (Quality of Service), SFTP/FTP protocols. Strong knowledge of network security protocols including IPsec encryption, SSL/TLS encryption standards, SSO (Single Sign-On), and VPN configuration. Hands-on experience with Cisco routers/switches implementation and troubleshooting; familiarity with Cisco ASA firewalls is highly desirable. Skilled in network troubleshooting methodologies for LAN/WAN environments; ability to diagnose issues related to routing protocols like OSPF/EIGRP/BGP or network hardware failures. Experience supporting IT infrastructure components such as Active Directory, VMware vSphere/ESXi virtualization platforms, AWS cloud services, Citrix solutions. Knowledge of scripting languages like Bash or PowerShell for automation tasks; familiarity with Ansible or other DevOps tools is a plus. Strong understanding of system administration across multiple operating systems including Windows Server environments and Linux distributions such as Debian or Ubuntu. Ability to perform vulnerability assessments using tools like SolarWinds or Splunk; experience with system hardening practices is preferred. Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide technical troubleshooting support in high-pressure situations; commitment to continuous learning in emerging networking technologies.
