244108 Job Description Position Overview States of residence include Pennsylvania or Ohio We are seeking a highly motivated Field Service Engineer to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced radiation detection and nuclear measurement systems. This role requires a self-driven technical professional who can work independently in customer environments while delivering exceptional service and support. Key Responsibilities Perform on-site installation, configuration, calibration, and testing of complex radiation detection and measurement systems. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and system-level issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with technical support and engineering teams to resolve advanced system faults and improve performance. Provide customer training and operational familiarization on installed equipment and software applications. Document all service activities, repairs, and field findings through detailed service reports and logs. Maintain a professional customer-facing presence and ensure a positive client experience during all engagements. Support in-house equipment troubleshooting and repair activities as needed. Provide remote technical assistance via phone and email. Qualifications & Requirements Strong technical aptitude with a background in electronics, mechanical systems, physics, nuclear technology, or related scientific disciplines. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Highly organized with solid computer and reporting skills. Self-motivated and capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to follow and adhere to all safety procedures and protocols. Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing 50+ pounds. Willingness to travel regionally up to 70%. Valid driver's license required. Preferred Experience Experience working with radiation detection instrumentation and spectroscopy systems. Familiarity with gamma spectroscopy, alpha/beta counting systems, and radiation monitoring equipment. Understanding of nuclear physics and radiation detection principles. Experience with technical software platforms, reporting tools, and database systems. Knowledge of SQL databases, reporting software, or data management tools is a plus. Ability to troubleshoot complex systems down to the modular or component level. Prior military nuclear power program experience is highly desirable. Education & Experience Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field preferred. Equivalent technical training and hands-on field experience will also be considered. 1-3 years of experience in a technical field service, maintenance, or customer support role preferred. Strong customer service background with experience supporting technical systems and equipment.
