Il y dispose généralement d'une séquence détaillée des tâches opérationnelles standard à suivre pour obtenir le résultat final escompté.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of large power capacity motors and generators at customer sites. This role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment reliability, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction across onshore and offshore locations.
You will act as the primary technical interface with customers, delivering high-quality field services in accordance with GE Vernova standards, while maintaining the highest levels of safety, quality, and professionalism. The role involves extensive travel (over 90%), both domestically and internationally. Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer & Field Service ExecutionServe as the main on-site technical point of contact for customersDeliver maintenance, repair, refurbishment, commissioning, and troubleshooting servicesBuild strong customer relationships and handle technical discussions at peer and senior management levelsEquipment CoverageLarge power motors and generators (1 MW to 50 MW)Induction MotorsSynchronous MotorsTurbine GeneratorsCommissioning & Site ServicesPre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including setup, testing, and performance verificationField troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and corrective actionsService overhauls and major maintenance interventionsTesting & InspectionElectrical testing: insulation resistance, polarization index, winding resistance, and related diagnosticsOn-site parts replacement, testing, and validationProblem Solving & Technical LeadershipIdentify technical issues and perform root cause analysisPropose and implement corrective and preventive actionsProvide on-site technical guidance, supervision, and customer trainingService Readiness & CoordinationPrepare material and tooling lists for service executionEnsure availability and quality of parts and equipmentCoordinate with internal teams including engineering, quality, and salesDocumentation & ReportingAccurately document all site activities and service reportsComplete safety updates, installation checklists, and commissioning documentationSupport quality teams with failure analysis and trend identificationProvide timely reporting to management on safety, project status, and technical risksAct as technical authority supporting bids, proposals, and service opportunitiesSafety, Quality & ComplianceExecute all work in strict compliance with EHS policies and site-specific safety rulesPromote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindsetEnsure personal accountability for quality of work and operational excellenceRequired Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related disciplineProven hands-on experience with motors and generators, preferably in field service environmentsStrong knowledge of rotating equipment diagnostics and maintenance practicesProficiency with service management systems, digital tools, and reporting platformsWillingness and ability to travel extensively (90%+), including offshore and marine environmentsComfortable working aboard vessels and remaining offshore for defined durationsExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong customer engagement and communication abilitiesAbility to work independently within defined operational frameworksCapable of making sound technical decisions in moderately complex scenariosHigh level of professionalism, ethics, and accountabilityAs GE Vernova is a global organization, working across different time zones, and monitoring, reading and responding to contact outside normal working hours can be expected.
