Job Description
Nikon Metrology is seeking a Field Service Technician for X-ray products to support advanced industrial imaging systems for aerospace, automotive, and electronics manufacturers. In this role, you will install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain X-ray and CT inspection equipment at customer sites, ensuring high uptime and measurement accuracy. You'll diagnose electro-mechanical and software issues, perform preventive maintenance and upgrades, and train customers on safe, effective use. Working within a collaborative, quality-driven culture, you'll develop deep technical expertise, travel regularly, and contribute to continuous improvement and innovation for global manufacturing clients. Responsibilities Install, calibrate, and maintain Nikon Metrology X-ray and CT inspection systems at customer sites Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues to minimize equipment downtime Perform preventive maintenance, system upgrades, and configuration changes per specifications Train customer operators and maintenance staff on safe, effective system use and basic troubleshooting Document service activities, technical findings, and parts usage in service management systems Collaborate with engineering and applications teams to resolve complex technical problems Support remote diagnostics and phone/email troubleshooting when not on-site Ensure compliance with safety standards and customer facility requirements during all field work Required Skills Field service and on-site customer support X-ray or CT imaging system operation and maintenance Electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair Reading electrical and mechanical schematics Industrial PC, Windows, and system software support Calibration and alignment of precision equipment Preventive maintenance planning and execution Technical documentation and reporting Customer training and communication Adherence to safety and radiation protection procedures
