SUMMARY OF POSITION SOFFA
Electric, a well-established systems integration firm with over 50 years of experience, is seeking a Field Service Technician II that can independently perform mid-level field tasks such as troubleshooting, calibration, instrumentation work, and
PLC/SCADA
support in water and wastewater facilities. Provides technical assistance and mentors Level 1 technicians.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Install and calibrate instrumentation and control devices. Install and calibrate instrumentation and control devices. Install and calibrate instrumentation and control devices. Support customer training and technical guidance. Read and update electrical schematics and P&IDs. Maintain accurate project documentation and records. Maintain service records and documentation. Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED
Experience :
2-5 years of field experience in controls or instrumentation.
Degree :
Associate degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Technology, or related discipline. Certification(s) Required or Must obtain within 3 months : OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification, NFPA 70E Arc Flash Certification, Confined Space Entry Certification, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Certification, TWIC Card (if required by client site).
ABILITIES REQUIRED
BUSINESS Excellent attention to detail High level of organizational and time management skills Experience writing routine reports and correspondence Experience speaking effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
TECHNICAL
Use of Digital Multimeters Basic use of power tools (Drills/metal cutting/punches) Experience completing the required paperwork associated with instrumentation calibration duties Experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Critical thinking skills with a proven ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and discretion Ability to work both independently and in a team environment The ability to thrive in a high-paced and at times stressful environment The ability to thrive in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
WORKING CONDITIONS
Lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted Can perform Confined Space Work
  • Ability to enter into confined spaces Can perform Elevated Work (Ladder/Lift)
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs (at least 20 feet high) using proper safety equipment Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and reach Required to use various hand tools and calibration instruments Noise level is typically low to medium in office; it can be loud on a job site Ability to travel required
  • Regularly required to drive to job sites Available for 24-hour on-call shifts Intermittent Hotel stays during week
